Το Ayreon είναι ένα project του συνθέτη και μουσικού Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Ο ήχος τους κινείται ανάμεσα στο Progressive Rock και το Heavy Metal, με στοιχεία folk, κλασσικής και ηλεκτρονικής μουσικής. Όλα τα albums των Ayreon ονομάζονται "Rock Operas" λόγω των στίχων τους, οι οποίοι σχηματίζουν πολύπλοκες ιστορίες με πρωταγωνιστές χαρακτήρες, που αντιπροσωπεύονται κι από έναν τραγουδιστή.

Το άλμουμ θα κυκλοφορήσει στις 28 Ιανουαρίου 2008 και είναι μια από τις πιο πολυαναμενώμενες κυκλοφορίες, ύστερα από την επιτυχία που είχε η προηγούμενη δουλεια των Ayreon με τίτλο "The Human Equation".
