Το νέο FIFA 2009 θα διαθέτει μια πρωτότυπη λειτουργία για την συχνή ενημέρωση του παιχνιδιού. Κάθε εβδομάδα θα συνδέεται στην βάση δεδομένων της EA Sports και θα συλλέγει πληροφορίες για τος παίχτες και τις ομάδες. Αυτό θα επηρεάζει την απόδοση των παιχτών και στο παιχνίδι σας. Δηλαδή, αν την Κυριακή η ομάδα σας "σέρνεται" στο πραγματικό παιχνίδι, όταν θα πάτε να παίξετε το FIFA 09 στο PC σας την Δευτέρα, η απόδοση της ομάδα σας θα είναι αντίστοιχη.
